Citizens Constitutional Congress Formed To Resist White House Takeover Of American Health Care System

CitizensContstitutionalCongress.com is providing “…a powerful new non-partisan voice,” in the wake of The ObamaCare Summit held in Washington last week and the announcement by the White House Wednesday that it is moving ahead to resurrect its highly partisan health care legislation.

Philadelphia, PA (Vocus) March 5, 2010 — As The White House announced its latest initiative pushing “ObamaCare,” a new website, www.CitizensConstitutionalCongress.com today went live to provide Americans with a powerful new voice of resistance to the government’s central planners in Washington, D.C.

Claiming to be “Free Citizens Fighting To Keep America Free,” CitizensContstitutionalCongress.com says it is inspired by the American Committees of Correspondence that, beginning in 1773, enabled American colonists to successfully oppose King George. It’s a proven historic model for a successful popular uprising.

The Tipping Point. CitizensContstitutionalCongress.com is providing “…a powerful new non-partisan voice,” in the wake of The ObamaCare Summit held in Washington last week and the announcement by the White House Wednesday that it is moving ahead to resurrect its highly partisan health care legislation.

“This is a tipping point,” says Lester Jenkins, spokesperson for CitizensConstitutionalCongress.com. Inflexible party officials – the President and his Democrat leaders in Congress (Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid) – have collectively shown themselves to be working tirelessly to promote legislation that violates Americans’ cherished Constitutional freedoms.

“We clearly see what is happening. We oppose the liberal-progressive activists in Washington continuing to dismantle individual freedoms that Americans have fought for, defended, and enjoyed for centuries. We are organizing to oppose them, utilizing modern communications tools such as polls, petitions, conventions. This is an enduring movement to defend our personal liberties – as every generation of Americans has been called to do.”

Early American colonists banded together to form Committees of Correspondence to oppose the encroachment on their individual freedoms by the English Crown. This loose confederation led to The First Continental Congress and the drafting of popular petitions – culminating in The Declaration of Independence – and a successful Revolution against the world’s strongest power. The United States of America was born, establishing the precepts of limited self-government, and guarantees of individual freedom, as enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

CitizensContstitutionalCongres.com “opposes ongoing efforts to tax and restrict Americans’ personal liberties through excessive spending and legislative initiatives such as ‘ObamaCare’ and ‘Cap and Trade.’ We strongly urge a return to First Principles as articulated in the United States Constitution. We seek to organize our fellow American citizens in firm resistance with united opposition to the relentless trend among the political class toward socialism.”

The new website proposes to effect change three ways:

1. Online Polling. CitizensConstitutionalCongress.com will regularly conduct public surveys and publish findings (both scientific and inferential) in the American press.
http://citizensconstitutionalcongress.com/wp/polls/

2. Online Petitions & Summons. CitizensConstitutionalCongress.com will draft petitions, solicit signatures, and issue summons and citations to sitting U.S. officials determined, by acclamation of petition signers, to be violating personal liberties as enshrined in the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
http://citizensconstitutionalcongress.com/wp/petitions/

When one million Citizen’s signatures have been secured on any Citizens’ Petitions, CitizensConstitutionalCongress.com will issue Official Summons to be directly delivered by Special Courier to the government official(s) cited.

3. Congressional Conventions. CitizensConstitutionalCongress.com will convene convention delegates (at locations outside of Washington, D.C.) to openly and publicly debate, authorize, and issue proclamations and citations in order to present government officials with the formal summons of the Citizens Constitutional Congress.

The new website has received endorsements from The Last America Band, whose new release, “The American Freedom Trilogy” features their new video, “How Stupid Do They Think We Are?” The band is directing proceeds from the song to help support CitizensConstitutionalCongress.com. Members of the band are currently touring Ireland and Europe, and will return to the U.S. by the end of the month.

The band was formed by five American recording artists following The ObamaCare Summit and the announcement by the White House Wednesday that it was moving ahead to resurrect its highly partisan ObamaCare legislation.

“Too many have sacrificed too much over too many generations for this generation to fail to defend freedom today,” says Jenkins, speaking on behalf of the band “We won’t let it happen. This is a popular uprising. The resistance is real.”

No more 1st Amendment

I received a warning from the Office of Kay Granger via the District Director Barbara Ragland.
I was officially informed that I am no longer welcome in the Fort Worth office of my Congressional representative.
I was informed that a letter to that effect was on my way signed by the Congresswoman herself.
I was instructed that if I wanted to contact my representative, I could only do so in writing to the D.C. Office from now on.

I guess I am getting to them.  They do not want constituents who are informed and active.  Those types are troublesome.
For nearly two years i have tried sending letters and got ABSOLUTELY nothing.

So as soon as I get this letter, I am going straight to the newspaper and announce how Granger treats the citizens in her district.  I am sure voters will like that.

I have not decided if I want to give Granger an opportunity to retract her statement.  What do you think?
Stay tuned.

How Stupid Do They Think We Are?

Let’s send those politicians a message, then send them home!

Resolved - A Petition For America

- RESOLVED -

We, the Free Citizens of the United States, do hereby resolve that the currently elected government of the United States, comprised at this time of both the Executive Branch (Obama Administration) and the Legislative Branch (111th U.S. Congress), have knowingly and willfully violated their sworn oath,

“…to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

We the People have closely considered the matters at hand, and find, therefore, that

1. War On Free Speech. The President has sought to silence the voices of free American citizens properly engaged in the exercise of their First Amendment rights. He has improperly utilized the power and influence of his High Office to intimidate his political opponents as they have expressed their lawful and legitimate concerns over his policies. Among many examples to be cited he has publicly declared, “I don’t want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking…I want them to just get out of the way so we can clean up the mess…I don’t mind cleaning up after them…but don’t do a lot of talking!”

2. War On American Commerce and American Global Economic Leadership. The President and his Administration have proposed, and then vigorously pursued, the enactment into law of onerous new limitations over the lives and freedoms of all Americans in order to exert enormous and expensive new governmental bureaucracies designed to restrict the rightful freedoms of private Americans, and cap the production and distribution of the nation’s essential energy supplies.

3. Raiding The United States Treasury. The President and the Congress have committed the nation to massive new deficit spending bills by passing into law $787 Billion in new deficits – without ever having read the legislation before it was voted and passed

4. War On The Individual. The Administration has increasingly elevated and pursued its own concepts of “Diversity” rather than the ideals of individual liberties – in so doing it has failed to protect the equal Constitutional rights of all free American citizens.

5. War On Private Property. The President has proposed and willfully participated in the seizure of private property, violated the individual property rights of free Americans, and bypassed long-established U.S. legal precedent and procedure – as in the cases of the bankruptcies of General Motors and Chrysler. In so doing, he has circumvented the laws of the United States and trampled on the rights of individual American shareholders and creditors. He has assumed dictatorial powers by intervening in the operational control over private companies, unilaterally firing the Chief Executive Officer of General Motors, in order to appoint his own handpicked successor. He has confiscated the assets and the substantial financial remains and resources owned and controlled by creditors and shareholders of these private companies, in order to pass such assets to his friends and political allies in labor unions, in grave violation of centuries of United States law and legal precedent.

6. War On The Unborn. Beginning with his first official act, The President has removed governmental restrictions which serve to protect the lives of innocent Americans. In so doing, he has forced all tax-paying American citizens to equally participate, many against their will, in financing the forced destruction of human life, thereby denying millions of our fellow American citizens the nation’s most sacred guarantees of “…life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

7. War On The U. S. Constitution – Executive Branch. The President has appointed officials not answerable to the Congress or to the People known as Czars, many with questionable backgrounds and philosophies at odds with traditional American principles of freedom and individual liberty. Not answerable to the people.

We hereby find the above mentioned officials, and their official bodies, to be sitting in violation of their sworn oaths.

We therefore resolve that all such aforementioned Executive and Legislative actions taken by these officials and their official bodies – including any and all regulations and/or legislation issued by such persons or institutions relative to the aforementioned grievances – are found to be without merit, and lacking legal force under the laws of the United States of America.

The Citizens Constitutional Congress does therefore declare and intend that all such referenced official acts and decrees of the United States government have been found by this Congress to be unlawful and are hereby rendered null and void.

– OFFICIAL SUMMONS –

The Citizens Constitutional Congress is required, from time to time, to issue Summons or subpoenas for testimony in cases which come before the Congress. The Citizens Constitutional Congress shall issue appropriate fines or other penalties to those persons ignoring such Summons to appear or offer testimony.

Any government official, whether directly elected by the People, or appointed to their official position by such a duly elected official, who is found to be in violation of his or her sworn oath, “to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States,” or any other person who fails to appear before this Congress when properly issued this Summons to appear, shall be found to be in contempt of The Citizens Constitutional Congress.

2/15 US Senate Election Projection- Dem 51 GOP 49 *GOP GAIN 1 since last projection*

ELECTION PROJECTION 2/15 US SENATE

Another one bites the dust. Evan Bayh’s retirement announcement in a state that voted 6 points more Republican than the national average and with a history (until 2008) of being safely Republican gives the GOP another pickup there. All of the data since my last projection, besides one poll out of Nevada giving Harry Reid at least a small gain in his numbers, shows the tide is strongly Republican and now makes our path to getting to 51 votes a little easier.

Perhaps the RNC needs to make some serious pushes to Thompson, Rossi, and Pataki…

Likelihood of flipping to GOP:

ND 99%

DE 99%

AR 90%

NV 90%

IN  80% (to be raised when polling data confirms the obvious)

PA 75%

CO 70%

IL   60% –LIKELY SCENARIO GOP 49 DEM 49 IND(D) 2

CA 35%

NY(S) 25% (upped to 60% if Pataki throws in)

WI 15 % (upped to 60% if Thompson throws in)

WA 15% (upped to 50% if Rossi throws in)

CT 10%

NY 5%

VT, OR, MD, HI <1%

Win the Latino vote

The GOP should by all rights be winning the Latino vote in a landslide.  Our party’s platforms that are more family friendly, small business friendly and economic policies that lead to better opportunities outshine the Democrats.  But in recent years this important and rising demographic has been sliding away from our party.  The Democrats think they own any demographic that is not white, and they play their racial politics without remorse.  I do not believe we should mirror their nefarious methods, but I think we do need to do more or pay the price down the road.  In 2010, there are three things that we could be doing:

1.  Broadening our outreach efforts into the Hispanic community to sign up new Republicans and appeal to commonsense conservative principles.

2.  Magnify our efforts to recruit exceptional candidates from the Hispanic community, perhaps have some of our leading Hispanic Republicans headline the efforts.

3.  Point out the failure of the Democrats to deliver positive results that have hurt Hispanic communities in America, as well as the damaging trade policies to Latin and South American nations.

An Inside Look at Organizing for America Part II: ACORN for America?

Part II of our inside look at Organizing for America was inspired by the investigative work done by Carol Greenberg Thank you Carol for getting involved and driving this story.

Anita MonCrief

From a tiny acorn, a mighty oak can grow. With ACORN’s help, Barack Obama “grew” from an ACORN community organizer and instructor, to an ACORN lawyer and ACORN benefactor as a board member of donor organizations, to an ACORN-backed Illinois state senator, to ACORN’s favorite United States Senator, to ACORN’s candidate for President of the United States in 2008. This article shows how ACORN and its allies helped organize America to make Obama President in this, the computer age.

Barack Obama’s meteoric rise from rookie Senator to President had man marveling at the efficiency and breadth of his campaign. Obama’s ability to fund raise had seasoned experts playing catch up while his voter registration money machine operated in the background. In 2008, the New York Times explored a seemingly innocent tactic the Democrats were utilizing to elect Obama. The article stated several times that the Republicans had honed this technique and Democrats were just “borrowing the play.”

“For years, Republicans had the landscape to themselves. More recently, however, Democrats, along with such allies as trade unions and progressive groups, have poured millions of dollars into building two formidable databanks. One is managed by the Democratic National Committee and can be used by candidates up and down the ballot. The other is Catalist, a for-profit company headed by Harold M. Ickes, a Democratic political operative, that specializes in providing data for scores of liberal groups supporting the Democratic ticket as well as for the Obama campaign itself.”

Progressive organizations, trade unions and a for profit group run by someone who had been implicated in the radical Teamstergate saga of the 1990’s? The crack reporting of The Times glossed over this toxic mix, and the Obama machine kept running.

Harold Ickes‘ company, Catalist, has been credited with creating this machine:

“Catalist collects and stores millions of pieces of information from public records and commercial sources. In addition to voting rolls and tax information, it also has data about voters’ magazine subscriptions and their cars. Campaigns also contribute e-mails, cell-phone numbers and even times when people are likely to be home.

Ickes, 69, said that by using Catalist the Obama campaign is able to generate data as detailed as lists of swing voters who are home in the afternoon in a six-block neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio. The list can even suggest which voters would be receptive to a pitch based on Obama’s ‘change’ theme, and which may be more interested in his health-care or energy policies.”

The origin of Catalist is intriguing and appears firmly rooted in the same community organizing spirit that has spread throughout the country.

“Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.” -Barack Obama

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now or ACORN spent a number of years perfecting an organizing model that resembled that of Catalist and the Obama Campaign. ACORN’s close “affiliate” Project Vote detailed their efforts in a 2007 report:

“The Pilot Technology Project carried out during the summer and fall of 2006 was a first attempt to integrate the potential of high quality enhanced data developed for voter participation programs with on-going grassroots community organizing programs. Building upon the work of Catalist (formerly Data Warehouse LLC), Project Vote deployed an updated version of our online voter management system (VBASE) to enable local community organizations to access a robust voter file with enhanced phone numbers, geographic and demographic information for use in voter mobilization, membership development and organizational capacity building.”

Apparently, ACORN and Project Vote were “smack dab” in the middle of another one of Obama’s voter registration drives. According to ACORN reports, ACORN was Catalist’s first client. Let me be clear, the ACORN VBASE, is the archetype of the Obama campaign. ACORN’s technology combined with union money elected a president.

To understand the importance of Catalist to the Obama Campaign and later Organizing for America I have included the educational screen shot below.

The writer of the article above sums up the relationship this way:

“Think of MyBo / Party Builder / VAN Votebuilders as being the tool sets and interface for volunteers, staff and field organizers, and Catalist as being the organizer and repository for the data as it flowed in and out of various OFA systems.”

A 2005 Year End ACORN Political Operations PowerPoint further illustrates ACORN’s involvement in the creation of the system that powers the President.

Matthew Vadum’s profile on the OFA offers some background on the major players but the hows and whys have largely gone unnoticed. In addition to a payment made from Obama for America directly to an ACORN affiliate, Project Vote managed to secure the Obama 2nd 2007 donor list. After all, this cross sharing among campaigns, non-profits and unions appears to have been the goal of the ACORN VBASE. A 2007 report the the Beldon Fund regarding a $75,000 grant lays the groundwork.

“The reason that VBASE, a customized database system has such value in the work of Project Vote’s field partners, such as ACORN, is because the model of groups like ACORN integrates year-round community organizing with heavy bursts of civic engagement work.”

ACORN insiders describe the Obama presidency as a “once in a generation opportunity” and ACORN was prepared to make it happen. Research uncovered details the concerted effort of a myriad of non-profit, 527’s LINK and union organizations skirting campaign finance and IRS codes. While ACORN is not directly involved with the Voter Activation Network, ACORN affiliates/partners are. America Votes, SEIU, State Voices and even the DNC’s owned VoteBuilder share information through this alliance.

In 2007, Project Vote was ready to launch their “beta” phase of the VBASE project and targeted a state that had been made friendly by the election of ACORN ally Ohioan Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner:

“The initial beta version of our 2006-07 database was piloted in Ohio by one of our local community partners. This pre-launch was a bug-testing period for the new system, addressing issues of file access, remote support, and appropriate server load.”

Brunner campaign consultant, Karyn Gillette was set to join Project Vote after successful work on the Brunner, Sherrod Brown and ACORN connected Ohioans for a Fair Minimum Wage campaigns. Meanwhile, Obama was running a massive campaign in Ohio and ACORN’s partnership with Catalist allowed a for profit business to market their state of the art organizing technology:

“The success of this program is such that Project Vote will be incorporating it into its 2007-08 Voter Participation Program. While we are still wrestling with the details, we are committed to rolling out this sophisticated and robust system to support the civic engagement efforts of our local partners as they pursue voter registration and voter education programs and as they integrate those efforts into their on-going community organizing programs”

The perfect marriage of ACORN and Catalist was made possible by the deep pockets of the unions:

“Michael Podhorzer, Deputy Political Director of the AFL-CIO, has said: ‘Catalist is an essential part of the foundation necessary for building progressive political power in our country. The labor movement relies on the state of the art political technology services provided by Catalist and we are proud to be an early subscriber.’

Discover the Networks goes on to explain the motivation behind Catalist:

“Reasoning from the premise that the United States is a nation rife with racism and injustice, Catalist notes its commitment “to using [its] talents and technology to nurture a vibrant, growing, progressive community, and to working with that community towards a more just, equitable and tolerant America.”

Obama has repeatedly denied any real ties to ACORN. If Obama is lying about organizing, could this mean that there is another purpose over at Organizing for America. Over the summer the nation witnessed the President call out this ready brigade to pass health care and stifle dissent. It’s time for the mainstream media to focus on what ACORN is really doing.

The “history making” Obama machine was directly engineered by ACORN’s voter database experiments. ACORN’s sister organization, Project Vote, received tax exempt money to fund a venture with the for-profit Catalist. Catalist, the Voter Activation Network, SEIU and America Votes provided the needed cover that allowed ACORN to operate in the background.

Without regard for tax codes or campaign laws; candidates and groups like America Votes, SEIU, Project Vote and other “progressive organizations” at times share staff, resources and donors. ACORN boasts over 440,000 member families and Obama benefited from the free flowing data between the campaign and ACORN provided by Catalist.  America is now facing a progressive agenda backed by a ready army of paid organizers trained in ACORN tactics, and the name Organizing for America seems to be missing a question mark.

This is just the beginning of our fight

What is it that Conservatives want????

And when do we want it???

This is a good question to ask and also answer since we are in the Primary season around the country. I thought this would be a good time to post this with the IL Primaries tomorrow and in other states.

First what do Conservatives want??  This is not as hard as one might think.  Even with a divide amongst many Conservatives, we mainly want our Government to follow the Constitution.    Go back to being the Limited Government that our Founding Fathers wanted.   NO more bailouts, special deals with Unions and to stop trying to pass Unconstitutional Bills such as Obamacare and Cap and Trade.

And When do we want this???  Well now, of course.  And the faster we get back to a Limited Government, the better.

This will not be easy.  Those that are in power are not going to relinquish their fiefdoms and control easily.  But with the Tea Parties and various other groups we are beginning to see some fight against the powers-to-be.

In Ohio, my friend Maggie Thurber has the story of the Local Tea Parties fighting the GOP establishment over their backing of less than Conservative Republicans.  Also we got the grass roots backing a Conservative in IL and he has been gaining steadily in the polls over the GOP establishment.  This is not just a fight against the Democrats as you can see.   This is a fight against the political class in DC.  This is happening all over the country and do not think that one person or a small group can effect an election.

Also as Michael Connelly posted, The Fight is just beginning.   Make no mistake, those in the ruling class are  not going to go out without a fight.  Just look at the SOTU Address by President Obama, he has no intention to listen to the people, and ignored the election of Scott Brown in Mass.

Hopefully  we can shake the system tomorrow and get some Conservative candidates that will get the attention of the elite in both parties.  As most polls show, we are a right-of-center nation.  We need candidates that can espouse the Conservative Message that everyone can understand.  This is also goes for local elections for school board and local government.

We have to get this country back on track or we will be so far in debt that we cannot dig ourselves out of it, if we are not there yet.

US Senate 2010 Election Projection-1/27-Dem 52 GOP 46 Tie 2

01272010USSenate
Figured I would update if and when we had any new polling for Indiana, and lo and behold, Bayh isn’t so untouchable anymore. While Pence has dropped out, Hostettler polls now within the margin of error and thus this seat is now BARELY Democratic. More polling out of Pennsylvania courtesy of Franklin  & Marshall shows Specters ridiculous decision to abandon the GOP last year won’t save him from a November booting- in LIKELY voters, he is getting crushed by Toomey, whom he was beating handily just six months ago.

We should expect more polling from Missouri and Illinois, and perhaps some hypothetical match-ups out of Washington and Wisconsin soon. By the way, Missouri based on the latest poll would show Blunt and thus the GOP ahead (Rasmussen pegged him beating Carnahan by 6 last week), however as this is the ONLY poll showing a significant lead for the GOP (and all other recent polls still show Carnahan with a 1-3 pt lead), I will leave it as a TIE until we get some verification from another pollster.

By the way, where the heck is Survey USA?

A Renewed Conservative Republican Majority

A Renewed Conservative Republican Majority

By Morton C. Blackwell

History never repeats itself exactly, but there are patterns in history which repeat themselves.

For instance, the recent election results in Virginia, in New Jersey, and, most spectacularly, in Massachusetts, lead me to believe that the November 2010 elections may produce results for Republicans similar to the 1994 elections.

The landslide elections of 2008 may be followed in 2010 by a landslide in the opposite direction.  I certainly hope so and will do all I can to make that happen.

Something big is happening in America.  We saw the first evidence of a grassroots conservative uprising last year at the townhall meetings and the spontaneous proliferation of tea party events.

The Republican victories in Virginia and New Jersey were dismissed by the Obama White House, Democratic Party leaders, and the mainstream media as anomalies caused by local circumstances.

Then came a thunderbolt in, of all places, Massachusetts: Republican Senator-elect Scott Brown.  The old explanations don’t work anymore.  No one can credibly deny that the left and the Democratic Party, which are pretty much the same thing these days, are in deep, national trouble now.

President Obama, who promised change, may cause more change than he likes this year.

It took our Republican Party more than a decade after the 1994 elections to lose the confidence of the American electorate.  Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid have accomplished that in a single year.

Other than the important task of uniting ourselves almost unanimously against the Obama Administration and the Democrat majorities in the Congress, the Republican Party has done very little to cause or deserve the sudden change in the national political climate.

No, the Democrats have brought their problems upon themselves.

They have not merely caused the tide of politics to turn against them; they have generated a tsunami which may sweep them away.  I hope so.

Driven irresistibly by their extreme ideology and an unquenchable thirst for power, they basked in the approval of the only media they see.  They never stopped to consider the possibility that their behavior might offend and alienate the majority of Americans.  It did.

Moral indignation is one of the most powerful human instincts.  It seldom dominates politics, but when it does it tends to sweep everything before it.

It’s not easy to rouse the national electorate into a state of moral outrage, but President Obama and the Democrats have arrogantly managed to do it.  Their politics stink almost palpably.

Unprecedented spending.  Unprecedented deficits.  Unprecedented increases in national debt.  Major tax increases in the midst of a recession.  Gross favoritism to political allies.  Demagogic attacks on all perceived opponents.  Grabs in all directions for more power in government and the private sector.  Bragging about not letting any crisis go to waste.  Shamelessly corrupt bargains to buy votes in Congress.  Appointments of avowed socialists, Marxists, and even an admitted communist to government positions.  Government control of health care.  Cap and tax.  Card check.  Government monopoly of student loans.  Change the law to keep a Republican governor from appointing to fill a U.S. Senate vacancy; change the law again to allow a Democrat governor to appoint a U.S. Senator.  Class warfare.  Famously broken promises from government transparency to the unemployment rate.  Endless apologies to the rest of the world for being the United States of America.

A full list would be much longer.

These people are far, far from the mainstream of America.  They are not ready for prime time.  The emperor has no clothes, his pants are on the ground, and a great many people now are outraged to see that he fooled them.

Barring some extraordinary event, Republicans will certainly make a major comeback in the November 2010 elections.

But are we ready for that?

Power does tend to corrupt, and no party is immune to the temptations of power.

Must we repeat the costly mistakes of our recent past?  How can we avoid the future abandonment of the conservative principles on which we built a majority coalition?  That’s what caused so many American voters to throw so many Republicans out of office.

I outlined a plan of action in my December 17 posting on RedState, “Conservative Republican Participation.”
